Bryan Kirwan agus Maratón Bhaile Átha Cliath

D'eirigh thar barr le Bryan sa Mharatón agus bhí Ellen agus Aoibhe réidh le comhgháirdeachas  a ghabhailt leis ag an line deiridh. Rith Bryan an Maratón i 3 uair a chloig agus 47 nóimint 51 soicind. Bhí dhá bhuaiteoir againn.  Éva Ní Mhuirí i Rang na Naíonáin Bheaga agus Nicky Doyle ó BSL. a bhuaigh na duaiseanna breátha. Comhgháirdeacas leo.  Ba mhaith le Coiste na dtuismitheoirí buíochas a ghabháil le gach duine a thug tacaíocht don chiste ach go háirithe le Bryan as rith sa Mharatón chun airgid a bhailiú do Chiste Choiste na dtuismitheoirí.

Bryan Kirwan and the Dublin City Marathon

Bryan had a fantastic run in the Marathon.  Ellen and Aoibhe and Shane were ready at the finish line to congratulate their Daddy. Bryan ran the marathon in a time of three hours and 47 minutes and 51 seconds. We had two winners who came within seconds of Bryan's actual time. Congratulations to Éva Ní Mhuirí from Naíonáin Bheaga and to Nicky Doyle from the ESB who won those generous prizes. Coiste na dtuismitheoirí from Scoil Gharbháin would like to thank everyone who supported us in a generous manner  but would especially like to thank Bryan for running in the Marathon to help raise funds for the Coiste.  Míle buíochas.

Rang 6 ar Cuairt i Scoil Gharbháin

Bhain Rang 6 ana thaitneamh agus tairbhe as an turas ar an mbaile le déanaí.  Bhíodar á samhlú féin mar Lochlannaigh nuair a chonaiceadar an seana chlogad agus seana chlaíomh Lochlannach san Iarsmalann agus chuireadar ana shuim sa scannán mar gheall ar an Long cáiliúil 'An Moresby'. Bhíodar ag samhlú na heachtraí a thárla sa Chaisleán Normannach 'Caisleán Rí Eoin' nuair a chualadar na scéalta mar gheall ar na cloiginn a fuarthas le linn an scrúdú seandálaithe. Ag deireadh ligeadar a scíth sa leabharlann áitiúil. Bhíodar fíor bhuíoch de Mhúinteoir Jen as iad a thabhairt ar an turas suimiúil seo.

Rang 6 thoroughly enjoyed the History Trail in Dungarvan recently. They no doubt imagined themselves as Vikings on seeing the helmet and shield in Dungarvan's Museum. The DVD giving an account on the famous Dungarvan Shipwreck 'The Morseby' certainly captured their attention. They imagined gruesome events and great adventures when they were told about the skulls that were discovered during the archaeological dig in John's Castle. They finished their journey relaxing in the local Library. Rang 6 were certainly grateful to Muinteoir Jen for taking them on this historical journey.

Thosnaigh na boscaí turas na Nollag ar an Aoine seo caite nuair a d'fhág siad an scoil ar an tslí go dtí buachaill nó cailín go mbeidh lúcháir croí orthu maidin lae Nollag. Dhein na páistí agus iad ag obair i mbeirteanna  ana chuid machnamh agus ana chuid oibre i dteannta a chéile le cinntiú go mbeadh bosca lán de féiríní speisialta á fháil ag gach duine. Ár mbuíochas leo go léir agus leis na múinteoirí ar fad a chabhraigh leo. Buíochas speisialta le Múinteoir Sinéad Ní Mhurchadha a eagraíonn an tionscnamh seo go bliaintiúil.

Seachtain na hEolaíochta / Science Week

Bhí sport ‘s spraoi iontach ag na páisti le linn seachtain na hEolaíochta. Dhein rang a 3 triall le balúin ar chorda chun na fórsaí a thriall. Ba bhreá leo na balúin  a fheiscint ag eitilt trasna an tseomra ar chorda agus cúntas a choimeád acu ar toradh a gcuid oibre. Bhí rang 1 gnóthach ar nós Graham Bell ag seoladh fuaim ar sreang. Bhí ana chraic acu ag éisteacht lena chéile. Tá spásairí againn i rang 2 agus tá siad ullamh anois le Spáslong a sheoladh i measc na réaltaí.

The children thoroughly enjoyed Science Week. Rang 3 worked with force and were amazed as their balloons travelled across the classroom on  string while they kept a close record of the results. Rang 1 were as busy as Graham Bell working with sound and sending messages from pupil to pupil on a wire. We have some astronauts in Rang 2. They are now more than able to launch a spaceship.

Scoileanna Glasa / Green Schools

Bhí Meitheal oibre ar siúl ag Naíonáin Bheaga agus Rang 5  le cabhair ó Mhúinteoir Siobhán, ó  Mhúinteoir Jason agus ó  Mhichelle. Bhailíodar na duilleoga ón gclós agus dheineadar múirín astu. Ní amháin anois go bhfuil Múirín againn ach tá clós breá glan againn chomh maith. Bhailíodar creid nó ná creid 89 mála de dhuilleoga. Maith sibh.  We had fantastic team work here during the week as Naíonáin  Bheaga and Rang 5 worked together to gather leaves for our Compost Heap with a helping hand from Múinteoir Siobhán, Múinteoir Jason and Michelle. They collected a record of 89 bags of leaves. Well done.
