Seachtaine na Matamaitice
Bhí seachtain iontach againn go léir, spórt agus spraoi á bhaint againn as imeachtaí na seachtaine. B'iontach an rud é idir thuismitheoirí agus pháistí agus mhúinteoirí a fheiscint ag tabhairt buille faoi thuairim ar an méid lítear uisce a rachadh isteach i mbaraille nó an mó balún a bhí sa mhála. Is breá leis an páistí go léir a bheith ag obair ar na ríomhairí agus bhain na ranganna ar fad ana thaitneamh as na cluichí matamaitice ar na ríomhairí glúine. Ba dheas an ciúb rubix a fheiscint arís agus gach éinne ag iarradh an corda a mheas gan bata méadair. Fuaireamar amach go bhfuil tuismitheoirí láidir againn sa scoil le caitheamh an bhuatais. Chailleamar go léir codladh na hoíche le puzail an lae. Tá slí eile anois ag Rang 5 chun uimhreacha móra a shuimiú 's a dhealú tré mhata meabhrach. Taispeánann an barr chairt go soiléir an mó duine fásta agus páiste a thrasnaíonn an bhóthair le Patricia agus is iontach é seo a fheiscint. Bhaineamar go léir ana thaitneamh as a bheidh ag rith thimpeall ar nós na gaoithe ar an gcosán matamaitice. Tógadh ana chuid griangrafanna de na himeachtaí le linn na seachtaine agus tá áthas a gcroíthe ar na páistí iad fhéin a fheiscint sna griangrafanna atá ar an mballa sa scoil. Ba mhaith linn ár mbuíochas a ghabháil le pobal na scoile, tuismitheoirí. páistí agus múinteoirí a bhain ana thaitneamh go deo as imeachtaí na seachtaine le chéile.
We all had a fantastic week during Matamatics Week, we had great fun together with all the events that were organised during the week. It was wonderful to see parents, pupils and teachers thoroughly enjoying the events trying to guess the litres of water in the barrel and the amount of balloons in the sack. It was great to see the rubix cube in action again and did we guess the correct length of rope with out the metre stick? The children enjoyed working on the laptops each week and pupils from all classes thoroughly enjoyed the Maths games on the laptops. We definitely have some very strong parents and children in the school which was evident with the welly throw. Our bar chart clearly displays the number of pupils and adults that use the pedestrian crossing with Patricia and well done to all. Rang 5 and rang 6 pupils travelled to WIT and will now be able to add and subtract large numbers by mental maths. The daily puzzle came between us and our night's sleep and kept us on our toes! We managed to decipher the maths trail while chasing our tails. The moments were captured on camera and the photos are on display in the school much to the children's delight. We would like to thank the whole school community parents, pupils and teachers for their enthusiasm during Maths week. It was a great success.
