Féile Drámaíochta Gael-Linn

Well dá mbeadh bronnadh IFFTA le déanamh i Mainistir Fhearmaí ar an gCéadaoin seo caite bheadh sé faighte ag Rang 1 anseo i Scoil Gharbháin as 'Robin Hood' a chur i láthair. Ní gnáth scéal é seo ach scéal atá beagáinín difriúil le carachtairí ar nós 'Mad Marion', William Smell, Kentucky Fried Tucker, Dan the Man agus Little Kong gan trácht ar Scéalaí le smacht aige ar an scéal ar fad. Tá an scéal ana ghreannmhar buíochas le Múinteoir Máire as dráma iontach a chumadh, a scríobh agus a stiúriú do rang 1. Bhí an moltóir ana thógtha leo mar bhíodar ar an dream ab óige a fhreastal ar an bhFéile Drámaíochta. Bhí sceitimíní iontachta orainn nuair a bronnadh ní amháin gradam amháin ach dhá ghradam orthu as a gcuid aisteoireachta, as an gcur i láthair agus as a gcuid Gaeilge. Bhain na páistí ana thaitneamh go deo as 'Giggles' an fear grinn. Comhgháirdeachas ó chroí libh agus le Múinteoir Máire agus ár mbuíochas ó chroí le Róisín de Paor agus le hÉinne Ó Cathasaigh as an gcabhair ar fad a thug siad dúinn ar an lá. Buíochas ó chroí le Gael-linn as an imeacht a reachtáil go bliantúil.

Well if IFFTAs were being awarded in Fermoy last Wednesday Rang 1 would certainly have swept the Boards with their production of 'Robin Hood'.  This is 'Robin Hood' with a twist, with characters such as 'Mad Marion', William Smell, Kentucky Fried Tucker, Dan the Man and Little Kong not to mention our Story Teller who held all the power and controlled the story from start to finish. The production is hilarious thanks to Múinteoir Máire the script writer and producer. The adjudicator was very impressed with the children as they were the youngest group to attend the Festival this year. Excitement was at a fever pitch when the class were presented with not one but two prestigious awards for acting, presentation and Gaeilge. The children thoroughly enjoyed 'Giggles' the clown and his antics. Congratulations to Múinteoir Máire and to Rang 1 and a big thank you to Róisín de Paor and to Éinne Ó Cathasaigh for all their help on the day. A big thank you also to Gael-linn who organise this event on an annual basis.

G-Day: Lá don Ghaeilge

Bhuel ná bí ag trácht ar IFFTAs is dóigh liom gur seachtain na IFFTAs a bhí ann. Táim cinnte go bhfaca sibh ár Réaltaí Scannáin ó Rang 4 ar an teilifís 'stoíche Dé Domhnaigh seo caite  ar an gClár G-day. Labhair Mary Hannifin leo agus bhíomar ana bhródúíl astu. Chaith Rang 4 i dteannta Múinteoir Lorcán lá iomlán i Lios Mhór ag tús an Fhómhair seo caite ag freastal ar imeachtaí a bhí ar siúl ann chun teanga 's cultúr na Gaeilge a chur chun cinn. Is fear ón Rinn a bhí páirteach ann Séamus Ó Lonáin agus ba dheas leis na páistí casadh leis. Thaitin an lá go mór leo. B'fhéidir gur imeacht bliantuil a bheadh ann. Beidh seans eile agaibh ár Réaltí a fheiscint arís 'stoíche Dé Céadaoin an 15ú lá ar TG4 ag an 9. i.n.

Well talking of IFFTAs it certainly would have been the week for the IFFTAs. I'm certain that you all spotted our stars on TG4 on the programme G-Day which was televised last Sunday. Mary Hannifin spoke to the children and we were very proud of them. Rang 4 with Múinteoir Lorcán spent a day in Lismore last September being involved in activities organised by Lismore Heritage Centre to promote the Irish language and culture. A native from Rinn ó gCuanach was involved in the promotion of G-Day Séamus Ó Lonáin which added to the occasion. They thoroughly enjoyed the day; we hope that this will become an annual event. You have another opportunity to see our stars on Wednesday to-night the 15th of February at 9 o'clock on TG4 on G-Day.

Rang 2 ag déanamh cruthanna ar an gclós.
