Brat Glas

Is le bród an domhain a ghlac Múinteoir Siobhán, Múinteoir Onra, Ellen Ní Bhroin agus Ciara Tirial ó Choiste na Scoileanna Glasa le Brat Glas ar son na scoile. Táimid go léir an tnúth leis an lá mór ar an 11ú Lá de mhí an Mheithimh nuair a ardófar an brat anseo ar scoil agus tá na hullmhucháin tosnaithe cheana féin. Beidh breis eolas sna nótaí an tseachtain seo chugainn. Comhgháirdeachas le gach duine a chabhraigh in aon tslí chun an brat a fháil don scoil.

Green Flag

It was a day of pride as Múinteoir Siobhán, Múinteoir Onra, Ellen Ní Bhroin and Ciara Tirial from our Green Schools' Committee accepted the Green Flag on behalf of Scoil Gharbháin recently. We look forward to raising the flag on Monday the 11th of June in Scoil Gharbháin and preparations are already under way for this occasion. Check next weeks' notes for additional information. Congratulations to everyone who helped to make this possible.

Cuairt ar an Rinn agus ar Stáisiún an RNLI

Mar chuid de Cheiliúradh na Comaoine chuaigh Múinteoir Sinéad Ní Mhurchadha, Michelle agus rang 2 ar cuairt go dtí An Rinn le déanaí. Cuireadh tús leis an turas le cuairt ar an ionad Spraoi i bPáirc Walton i  nDún na Mainistreach agus nach iad atá in iúl ar dreapadh. Ceannaíodh  sóláistí don picnic i Siopa Spar i nDún na Mainistreach. Chuamar as san go Heilbhic ag lapadáil sa Chóbh. Bhíodar á samhlú féin ar eachtraí le foghlaí Mara nuair a chuadar isteach sa phluais sa Chóbh in Heilbhic.  Bhí slí álainn ag Tomás Rua ó Cadhla (deartháir le Seánaí) leo sa Stáisiún Tarrthála in Heilbhic agus d'inis sé dos na páistí mar gheall ar saol an chriú ar an mbád tarrthála.  D'fhreagair sé na ceisteanna go léir a bhí acu mar gheall ar eachtraí ar an mbád tarrthála. Cuireadh deireadh leis an gcuairt le picnic blasta i dtigh an bháid Tarrthála.  Ár mbuíochas ó chroí le Tomás as an gcuairt. Míle buíochas le Múinteoir Sinéad agus Michelle bhí lá ana  thaitneamhach ag rang 2 a chur deireadh iontach le Céiliúradh na Comaoine.

Bhí céiliúradh iontach againn ar an Satharn seo caite nuair a ghlac Rang 2 a gCéad Chomaoineach. Ba dheas ag Breandán agus Kelly bláthanna a chur ar uaigh an Athair ó Domhnaill bhíomar ag smaoineamh air ar an lá. Bhí an tAthair de Paor inár smaointí ar an lá chomh maith. Tá Séiplíneach nua ag an Scoil anois agus ba mhaith linn fáilte 's fiche a chur roimh an Athair Micheal Enright. Ba chomaoin speisialta a bhí ann don Athair Micheal mar bhí Cliodhna Nic Craith agus Ciara Ní Shuilleabháin gar niceanna le Fr. Michael ag glacadh na comaoine.  Molaim rang 2 ach go háirithe Múinteoir Sinéad Ní Mhurchadha agus an tAthair Michael Enright  as an gCéiliúradh álainn a bhi againn ar an Satharn  an 9ú lá d'Aibreán i séipéal Aibhistín i nDúngarbhán.

A Visit to the RNLI Station

As a continuation of our First Holy Communion celebrations Múinteoir Sinéad Ní Mhurchadha Michelle and Rang 2 visited the Gaeltacht of An Rinn recently. The tour began with a visit to the playground in Waltons Park where the children displayed their agile abilities. Supplies for the picnic were purchased in the Spar next door before the children continued on to Helvick to enjoy a paddle in the Cove. They also spent the hour imagining themselves as pirates while exploring the caves. Tomás Rua ó Cadhla (Seánaí's brother)  had a lovely way with the children as the tale of a life boat crew member unfolded.  He answered all their questions about rescues aboard the life boat.  A big thank you to Tomás Ó Cadhla, Múinteoir Sinéad and to Michelle from Rang 2 as they had a wonderful day which brought an end to their communion celebrations.

We had glorious celebrations on Saturday last as Rang 2 received their First Communion. Fr. O'Donnell was in our thoughts on this special day as Breandán and Kelly laid some flowers on Fr. Noel's grave in his memory. Fr. Power was also in our thoughts on this memorable occasion. We are delighted to inform you that we have a new Chaplin for Scoil Gharbháin and we welcome Fr. Michael Enright to Scoil Gharbháin. The celebration of this Sacrament was an extra special one for Fr. Michael as his grandnieces Ciara Ní Shuilleabháin and Cliodhna Nic Craith received their First Holy Communion. We congratulate Rang 2 and especially Múinteoir Sinéad and Fr. Michael on a wonderful celebration on Saturday last in St Augustine's Church in Dungarvan.
